What is the Dark side?
The Dark side of the Force is made up of negative emotions; selfishness, fear, and aggressive feelings are core aspects of it, meaning it is within us all. Beings are tempted to deny this reality and instead picture the Dark side to be external and something possible to be rid of, but it cannot be denied, only accepted. Denying the truth only feeds the Darkness.
Who are the Sith?
The Sith, known more formally as the Sith Order, is generally understood to be the ancient enemy of the Jedi and the Jedi Order. Whereas Jedi practice the Light side of the Force, and are peacekeepers, the Sith practice the Dark side of the Force, and are warmongers, selfish and deceptive, obsessed with gaining power. The Sith utilize negative emotions, such as hate, anger and greed amongst others. Traditionally, there were at least several hundred Sith, but after Darth Bane, this changed, as the Rule of Two was implemented, ensuring that there was no trust between the Sith Master and Sith Apprentice, both constantly seeking to destroy the other and gain more power for themself. This eventually lead to the near-erasure of the Sith within just a few generations.
Was is Force lightning?
Force lightning is a well-known use of the Dark side to conjure deadly blasts of lightning. Often called “Sith lightning” due to the frequent use of the ability by the Sith. It can be deflected to a degree with the use of a lightsabre, or by advanced applications of defnesive telekinesis.
What is Force choke?
Force choke is the name for an act of utilizing telekinesis to lift another being by the throat (or corresponding area) and squeezing with the Force to choke them out. Technically, Force choke is neither a Dark side or Light side power in terms of the skills needed, but Force choke is solidly Dark, as its intent is to kill.
What is consumption?
Also known as “consume essence”, consumption is a Dark Force ability that uses fear, hatred, and other associated negative emotions to make the user more powerful. The cause of these emotions in others is irrelevant, the emotions alone are sufficient.
What is Force destruction?
Force destruction is a Dark power used by the Sith and other Dark siders, which allows the user to store up a large amount of energy to release in a blast originating from their body, using it as a conduit, drawing from negative emotions through the Force to power the attack. This typically manifests as a telekinetic push, but with a strong user or exceptionally powerful emotions, can cause severe injuries and burns, even death.
What is Force slow?
A Dark side power similar in concept to the Light side power of malacia, Force slow placed a metaphorical “weight” upon the target’s mind, causing them headaches and migraines, slowing them down both physically and mentally. Unlike malacia, Force slow actively caused the symptoms, instead of simply tricking the target into believing that they had the symptoms.
What is memory walking?
Memory walking is a type of mental torture wherein the attacker forces their way into the mind of a target, sources their worst and most painful memories, and causes those memories to be replayed continuously. Often used in an attempt to make Fallen.
What is domination?
Domination is a type of mind trick in which the force of will of the attacker is pushed onto the target, damaging their mind and forcing them to perform actions that they would not do under any other circumstances. Domination is crushing and potentially deadly, often drawing on the negative emotions of the attacker and the negative emotions of the target when in use.
