Greetings, Padawan

This is Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. I regret to report that both our Jedi Order and the Republic, have fallen with a dark shadow of the Empire rising to take their place. This message is a warning and a reminder for any surviving Jedi; trust in the Force. Do not return to the Temple--that time has passed, and our future is uncertain. We will each be challenged. Our trust. Our faith. Our friendships. But we must persevere. And in time, a new hope will emerge. May the Force be with you, always.

Obi-Wan Kenobi's Holocron Warning

Grand Master Yoda was the head of the Jedi Order during the time of the Republic, and one of the eldest and wisest Jedi. Master Yoda survived the initial purge (colloquially known as "Order 66") with the help of the wookie people on Kashyyyk. He returned to the Jedi Temple, finding it ransacked and the occupants slaughtered, few having escaped. Master Yoda sought out Darth Sidious (previously known as Chancellor Palpatine) and duelled him in the innermost chamber of the Galactic Senate, a battle that ended with no clear victor, both parties eventually fleeing. Master Yoda, aware of his disadvantages and age, left for Dagobah. Through the Force, he would later Knight Caleb Dume (who went by Kanan Jarrus at the time) and aid Knight Dume's own Padawan, Ezra Bridger in the construction of his first lightsabre. Yoda would eventually take on a final pseudo-Padawan in Luke Skywalker, and aid him in his training before passing away and becoming one with the Force.

Lineage: Dooku (Padawan), Qui-Gon Jinn (Grand Padawan), Obi-Wan Kenobi (Great-Grand Padawan), Anakin Skywalker (Great-Great Grand Padawan), Ahsoka Tano (Great-Great-Great Grand Padawan)

Master Obi-Wan Kenobi (human) was a member of the Jedi Council during the Republic. He had been sent to do battle with General Grevious of the Separatist forces on Utapau and had just successfully defeated the General when Order 66 began. Master Kenobi successfully escaped the troopers of the 212nd Attack Battalion, and returned to Coruscant to find the Jedi Temple burning. He then altered the message of the Jedi Beacon (which had been already once altered to call the Jedi back to the Temple in order to ambush them) to warn the surviving Jedi of the threat to their lives, an idea he had thanks to then-Padawan Caleb Dume, and to encourage them to have strength against the darkness ahead. Master Kenobi sought out his former Padawan, the now Darth Vader, and engaged in battle with the Sith Lord on the planet Mustafar, coming out ultimately victorious, severely crippling the Sith Lord. He brought the son of Darth Vader (Luke Skywalker) to the desert planet Tattoine, where the boy was given to his aunt and uncle, and Obi-Wan attempted to live as a normal citizen of the planet for many years. Later, after many changes, Master Kenobi would bring the then-teenaged Luke Skywalker to the fight against the Galactic Empire, beginning the teachings that Grand Master Yoda would later continue. Master Kenobi chose to join the Force during a battle with Darth Vader on the Death Star, allowing Luke Skywalker and his companions, including his twin sister, Leia Organa, to flee.

Lineage: Yoda (Great-Grand Master), Yan Dooku (Grand Master), Qui-Gon Jinn (Master), Anakin Skywalker (Padawan), Ahsoka Tano (Grand Padawan)

Master Quinlan Vos (kiffar) was the oldest member of his Clan (Clawmouse Clan) and had the gift of psychometry. Quinlan would briefly Fall during the Clone Wars, but would return to the Jedi Order and the Light, and ultimately survive Order 66.

Lineage:

Master Cere Junda (human) was initially able to flee the events of Order 66 alongside her Padawan, Trilla Sudbury. Master Junda was tortured, and later escaped, although the effects of the torture resulted in her severing her connection to the Force. While a member of the Mantis crew, Master Junda aided a secret network of individuals, helping hide Force-sensitives from the Galactic Empire. Master Junda would later die in a fight against the Sith, Darth Vader, as she protected a cache of Jedi artefacts and remnants of the Jedi Archives. Prior to her death, she would act as Master to Knight Cal Kestis, knighting him and aiding in the finalisation of his training.

Lineage: Eno Cordova (Master), Trilla Sudbury (Padawan)

Master Caleb Dume (human) was a Padawan Learner under Master Depa Billaba during the Clone Wars and served the 41st Elite Corps at that time. When Order 66 was initiated, Padawan Dume fled the conflict at the demand of his Master, successfully surviving and taking cover. Padawan Dume changed his name to Kanan Jarrus (for clarity, this page will use the name Caleb Dume) and later joined the crew of the Ghost who became a Rebel cell and fought back against the Empire. Padawan Dume would alter his lightsaber so that it was in easily-connected but ultimately separate pieces in order to better disguise the tool against scrutiny, and alongside his lightsabre, would protect a Jedi Holocron that included training lessons and instructions on lightsabre forms. Padawan Dume, despite not being a Knight, would take on Ezra Bridger, a young Force-sensitive human who was born after the fall of the Jedi Order and Republic, as a Padawan. Padawan Dume would be knighted through the Force and therefore able to take Padawan Bridger on in an official capacity later, and would posthumously become a Jedi Master when Padawan Bridger completed his own training.

Lineage: Mace Windu (Grand Master), Depa Billaba (Master), Ezra Bridger (Padawan)

Healer Knight Bant Eerin (mon cala) was originally placed in Clawmouse Clan with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Quinlan Vos. She would train as a healer and graduate to work full-time at the Halls of Healing. She would be killed in Order 66 while protecting her patients.

Knight Cal Kestis (human) was a Padawan Learner under Master Jaro Tapal in the later days of the Clone Wars conflict, who, upon Order 66 beginning, would lose both his lightsabre and his Master as he escaped the carnage, landing on the planet of Bracca, where he fled into obscurity as best he could, taking his Master's sabrestaff along with him. Unlike other survivors of the purge, such as Master's Obi-Wan Kenobi and Caleb Dume (who changed their names to Ben Kenobi and Kanan Jarrus respectively), Padawan Kestis did not alter his name, and spent five years on Bracca, largely unaware of the details of the Jedi Purge, having no way to access a Holoron or other method of accurate information. He would later flee the planet with the help of the Mantis and Master Cere Junda in particular, joining their crew in their attempt to rebuild the Jedi Order, finding a Holocron that held a list of Force-sensitive children. Padawan Kestis would, in no particular order, destroy this Holocron to protect the children, fight Darth Vader, and be Knighted by Master Junda.

Lineage: Oppo Rancisis (Grand Master), Jaro Tapal (Master)

Knight Ezra Briger (human) was born post-Order 66, living his early life under the Empire on Lothal, where he used his instinctive talent for the Force to survive as a homeless youth, before meeting with the crew of the Ghost and then-Padawan Caleb Dume. Padawan Bridger would be aided through the Force in the construction of his lightsabre, which was later destroyed and then replaced, and would train under Caleb Dume as he became a Jedi Knight. Padawan Bridger demonstrated an acute affinity for understanding animals through the Force. He would do battle with Grand Admiral Thrawn, and use this connection with Purrgil to defeat the Grand Admiral, going missing for several years and later returning post the destruction of the Death Star. He would later be knighted by Knight Kestis.

Lineage: Mace Windu (Great Grand Master), Depa Billaba (Grand Master), Caleb Dume (Master)

Padawan Ahsoka Tano (togruta) was assigned to Knight Anakin Skywalker by the Jedi Council during the early years of the Clone Wars to be his Padawan Learner. Favouring a Jar'Kai supplimented form of Ataru in combat, Padawan Tano would learn a great deal under her Master and Grand Master, and be given the privilege of escorting a group of Senior Initiates to their Gathering near the end of the Clone Wars, prior to being framed by a Fallen Jedi (Padawan Barriss Offee) in a bombing of the Jedi Temple. The council was pressured to expel Padawan Tano from the Jedi Order by the Senate and larger gouverning body of Coruscant, and was unable to refuse. Padawan Tano would be cleared of all charges, but would leave the Jedi Order by the encouragement of the Force, despite her doubts. She would go on to capture Darth Maul, survive Order 66, join the Rebellion as Fulcrum, and see the return of the Jedi Order by Luke Skywalker.
